widsets_logo.gif Gadgets or widgets for the cellphone and mobile devices. Widsets allow you to track the widgets you create. Think Google RSS for mobiles.  Why would I want to keep track of traffic created by WidSets? Your mobile service provider may charge for data transfer generated by your widgets set. Avoid unexpected costs by defining a limit for your traffic. Keep in mind though, this is only a rough calculation of the traffic generated by your widgets.I saw Wikipedia, BBC, TechCrunch, Flickr and so on.

frengo_stars.jpg Image: "add" horoscope and then check it from web or mobile. I can't use the Frengo - it is for Americans - but the rewards for encouraging people to use their mobiles is an interesting one. I call it Facebook for mobiles because you "add" apps (like Facebook) and win prizes for it. APIs for partners.

Fring is a mobile phone application that allows you to stay in touch with multiple social networks and online communities such as Twitter, Skype and instant messengers.

I installed Fring today. I had meant to do so a few months but heard that it was being blocked on Australian telco networks so skipped it for a while. I downloaded and installed the Fring app on my Nokia 95.

About MyMobilePals and Welcome

Welcome to MyMobilePals - a blog on social networks and mobile phones. It's also a Social News Media site with social bookmarking to nominate and vote on the latest news in online communities on the cell phone. If you have a question, or want to initiate your own discussion, please go to the forums.

MyMobilePals is a website and online community to collect information on mobile communications and social networks.

Who: I am Laurel Papworth and I have an interest in both telecommunications and social networks online. This is a one-to-many site, because I'm writing a BLOG for you to catch up on mobile social network news. But it's also a many-to-many site because there is social news (citizen editor might be more appropriate) - Digg like - and forums. So you can also initiate the discussions.

What: There's a Social News or Social Bookmarking section. It's like Digg - but very niche. The only News collected here is on mobile phones or cell phones with social networks. Occasionally a cool mobile phone application might sneak into the News section that doesn't have a social aspect. But mostly it's stuff we can share and collaborate.

When: Since the nineties, I've worked in telecommunications and online communities. I've been waiting for mobile social networks to really start happening and keep a BLOG here to monitor my thoughts and opinions on the convergence of mobility and swarms.

How: Drupal - in fact Drupaligg - and adapted.
